Reason Codes

The Job Costing Module will allow the user to create "Reason Codes" that will standardize entries between employees. In order to ensure accurate and reliable reporting of lost production time, for example, it will be essential to have consistent reasons for common problems such as “Equipment Failure” or “Waiting for Plate”.

Due to human nature, using a comment field for this purpose would most likely result in a different response for the same event.  Obviously, this would lead to difficulties trying to pin point problem areas within the shop. For this reason, the Enterprise system has created Reason Codes, defined by the user, that will standardize information for reporting and analysis.

Most Job Costing transaction entries, will not require a Reason Code.

To add or edit a Reason Code, select menu option Job Costing/Maintenance/Reason Codes and the system will display the "Reason Codes" screen.

Select Add or Edit to view the following screen and add or edit a Reason Code, or Delete to delete a code.
