Grid Tiers

Updated October 11, 2022

Price or Cost Grids within the system allow the user to create an unlimited number of pricing tiers to facilitate volume pricing or costing.

A Grid Tier creates the base for the value and the system will use that value until the next tier has been reached. The last tier acts as the final value that will be used in the calculation from that number to infinity.

It is for this reason that it is strongly suggested that any grids that the user creates within the system start with the value of 1. Any value less than the first tier will use zero(0) as the calculating value.

For example, the following Estimate Unit Cost (based on per M) grid shows 4 tiers.

Estimates would use the following Unit Costs to calculate an estimate.

Estimate Quantity

Tier Quantity Used

1,000

5,500

37 x (5500 / 1000) = $203.50

37 x (9999 / 1000) =  $369.96 *

10,000

35 x (10000 / 1000) = $350.00 *

65,000

50,000

32 x (65000 / 1000) = $2,080.00

350,000

100,000

25 x (350000 / 1000) =$8,750.00

* Note : Due to the nature of the step method of the tiers there may be circumstances where the price or cost will actually drop when quantities required are close to each other.
