Costing Methods are the basis for how the system will calculate the process and can be effected by other factors.
The premise is that the Costing Method determines how the Input Quantity will be derived rather than calculating the cost based on the either time or cost per unit.
In Prepress there are 4 methods of calculation;
Minutes : The process to use the Quantity entered directly by the user as minutes to calculate the cost of a process.
Minutes per Unit : Is used for operations that may not require down to the minute precision or have a standard set time.
Cost per Unit : Allows the user to either define value to be used by either the Unit Cost field or the Cost Grid.
Cost per sq. inch : Similar to Cost per Unit where the Input Quantity may be applied to either the Unit Cost field or the Cost Grid but the value is Width x Length.
