Update May 2, 2024
The system requires a Basic Area and a Basis Weight (BWT) to calculate the weight per M of a stock.
The paper industry uses two factors to determine the weight of a quantity of sheet stock: Basis Size and Basis Weight (BWT). The Basis Size is determined by the Paper Grade.

The Basic Area is derived by multiplying Length by Width of the Basis Size.
By definition, Basis Weight (BWT) is the weight of 500 sheets (one ream) of Basis Size paper.
Therefore, 500 sheets of 25x38 offset paper with a Basis Weight (BWT) of 60 would weigh 60 lbs.
The system allows the user to choose the Basic Area from 10 industry standard that correspond to paper Grade.
Or the user may elect to enter any value the desire.
