The search function allows the user to search using any of the list box column headings either a single selection or multiple headings.
This field must be in the data grid. If the user has access privileges fields can be added to the grid.
This allows the user to enter in part of or the complete string of information that will be search for.
The field is also a drop down menu showing the last 11 searches.
The String Search Type allows the search to be performed 1 of 4 ways.
Start With - This will search through all the data for matches that exactly match the first characters in the database field to the string in the Criteria Input Field.
Specific - This will search through and display only the data that exactly matched the all the characters in the Criteria Input Field.
Keyword - This will search through and display only the data that contains the characters in the Criteria Input Field.
Descending Order - This option allows the results to be displayed in descending alphanumeric order.
Combine with previous search - This option will take the previous search and apply the current search to that result.
For example, performing the following searches, each with the Combine with previous search option checked will result would display only Letterhead jobs for client 15000 with John Smith as the sales rep;
Quick Search 1: Criteria - Account "starts with" = "15000"
Quick Search 2: Criteria - Description "keyword" = "Letterhead"
Quick Search 3: Criteria - Sales Rep "Specific" = "John Smith"
Save as Favorite - The system allows users to save search templates in 1 of 2 ways;
Favorites - These searches are only available for the logged in user. Click Save as Favorite.
Global - Search saved as Global are available for all users. Leave Save as Favorite unchecked.
Make this my Default Search [OE main only] - This setting will force the system to apply the specific search whenever the OE module is started.
Use the Select button to retrieve the saved search to bring the criteria into the Fields to Sort and Search.
