Each process has the ability to set a Direct Manufacturing Rate (i.e. DM Rate) for that process; for example wages or out-of-pocket expenses only. This is opposed to the All Inclusive Rate which usually includes both direct and indirect expenses.
The user can elect to use those rates when calculating an estimate or order based on an alternative hourly rate by setting the Use Direct Manufacturing Rates in the estimate or order.
The user should note that production costs will always be calculated and stored in database tables using All Inclusive (AI) Rates regardless of the DM Rate option setting. The generic Estimate Analysis and Quotation reports furnished with the system will display values using AI Rates, however a custom report could be created that would display costs using either rate structure. Please contact EPMS for additional information regarding this custom report.
If the option Use DM Rate for Estimates and Orders is set for a specific customer account the check box option will be defaulted when new estimates or orders are created. This default can be modified provided the user has the privilege rights to make the change.
