In the Enterprise 32 system, departments are groupings of processes, employees and materials for Shop Floor Data Collection purposes. The user may define the departments in a way that will make the most sense considering a particular production environment.
Typical examples would be: Prepress, Sheetfed Press, Web Press, Machine Bindery, Hand Bindery and Copy Center.
Departments will not be used when entering an estimate or an order. Typically, a department will include one or several data collection workstations. The following discussion will describe how to create departments for use within a Shop Floor Data Collection environment.
Select Job Costing/Maintenance/Departments and the system will display the "Departments" screen.
The screen will show a list of departments and function buttons to add, edit or delete a department.
