These label fields can provide helpful prompts as the user enters data in the Estimating/Order Entry module.
As an example, for a cutting operation, the Cycle Description would be a Lift, the Unit Description would be Sheets, and the Repetition Description would be No of Cuts.
In Estimating/Order Entry, the above description entries would result in the following prompts: No of Cuts [the estimator would then enter the number of cuts desired], and Sheets per Lift (the system MAY automatically enter the calculated Sheets Per Lift based on the paper caliper and the Inches per cycle entered in the process setup or the default Units per Cycle.
If the user does not enter descriptions in these description fields, the generic prompts, in Estimating/Order Entry, will be No. of Repetitions and Units per Cycle.
The user may want to consider the following rule of thumb:
The generic prompt No. of Repetitions most likely indicates that the default value 1 should not be changed. A customized prompt, such as No. of Cuts, clearly indicates to the user that an input is desired. The tendency of new users is to input something in the No. of Repetitions field when nothing should be entered.
Alternatively the user might want to use more direct verbiage, such as DO NOT USE for Repetition Description and NA for Unit and Cycle Description. This should ensure that these fields are noted.
