Grain Critical Option

Select this option if paper grain is important. When checked, the system will restrict the range of possibilities when calculating “outs”. Realize that columns on the left represent “Width” and those on the right “Length”. With Grain Critical selected, then, "Width" fields will be compared to "Width" fields and "Length" fields to "Length" fields for the “Outs” calculation.   

 

Consider the following examples:

Example #1 : Grain Critical: "Yes"

Untrim/Sig Flat	11 x 17
Press Size	23 x 17	2 out
Parent Size	23 x 35	2 out

 

Example #2 : Grain Critical: "Yes"

Untrim/Sig Flat	11 x 17
Press Size	17 x 23	1 out
Parent Size	23 x 35	1 out

Example #3 : Grain Critical: "No"

Untrim/Sig Flat	11 x 17
Press Size	17 x 23	2 out
Parent Size	23 x 35	2 out
