Press Defaults To Portrait

In the case where a press cylinder is longer than it is wide it can be defined as defaulting to printing portrait. Typically smaller duplicator presses or in some cases Signature producing web presses.

 

 

By default the system adds the Gripper value to the Width of the Untrim/Sig Flat value. The Width being the first field entered. Subsequently, the Side Guide is added to the Length (second) field. If sum of the 2 fields exceeds the Max. Size Around Cylinder value the resulting number of Outs would be 0.

 

 

When a press is selected, the Print Portrait option on the Layout screen will become checked. With this option checked, the Gripper is added to the Length of the Press Sheet by default. However, this option may be changed during an Estimate or Order.
