Ship Via Services

In shipping the user may want to assign a Ship Via Service rather than just a Ship Via Code. The user can define a Ship Via Code, such as "Federal Express" or "UPS", and then assign several Ship Via Services for each Ship Via Code. These could include services such as "Ground" or "Next Day, Air".

The system will display a list of shipping methods in the upper window (i.e. Shipping Codes). As a method is highlighted, the bottom window will display a list of shipping services already entered for that method.  

 

Add/Edit Ship Via Service

Click Add or Edit to create or modify Ship Via Service.

Code : Enter in a 5 alphanumeric code.

Description : This text will be visible in the drop down menu in shipping.

Online Description : If the user will be utilizing web modules for customer order entry. An Online Description will be required to display the Shipping Method (Ship Via Code) in the web modules.

Freight Markup% : Enter a percentage that any value entered into on a shipment will then be marked up when the order is invoiced.

Minimum Charge : Enter an amount that will be used as minimum when compared against the value entered in Freight Costs in Shipping.

Apply Minimum to while Shipment and not Package : 

 

Note: In Shipping, if a 3rd Party Billing number is entered for a shipment and if that shipment also uses a Ship Via Service, then the system will ignore the minimum charge entered as a default on the Ship Via Service screen.
