Reduce Ink Mileage

This field will allow the user to adjust for ink absorption for each category of paper.

 

 

The system allows the user to define an Ink Coverage for each individual ink and the value entered in the Reduce Ink Mileage field will modify the coverage to account for paper absorption for all Sheet or Roll Material within the Category when used in an Estimate or Order.

 

If this field is left blank then the system will use the Ink Coverage entered in the individual ink.

 

For example

The user might have the Ink Coverage for a specific Ink set to 400,000 sq. inches/lb. (at 100% coverage, by definition).

 

For a particular Category of paper, because is a more pourus material (offset vs coated), the mileage should be reduced to 346,000 sq. inches/lb. due to absorption.

 

Therfore, the user would enter 13.5% in the Reduce Ink Mileage field.

 

Reduce Ink Mileage = 1 - (New Ink Coverage / Ink Coverage)

= 1 - (346,000 / 400,000)

= 1 - 0.865

= 13.5 %
