Here is an example of a Material Code Syntax that allows operators and users to quickly scan and search the codes. It also allows items on the floor to be easily identified by reading the code.
Category Code-ID
Category codes: 1-5 digits - arbitrary
Example: 2000 = Plates
Or
BOX = Boxes
Or
WIRE = Wire Bound material
ID: Any number of digits, arbitrary
Any number to identify item for example 001 = Plate #1
